Overview

The quickest and easiest way to reach your desert camp. Your driver picks you up at your hotel, our base or the car park in Merzouga or Hassilabied, loads your luggage and drives you across the sand to the camp.

It is the best choice if you arrive late, travel with children or older people, have heavy bags, or simply prefer not to ride a camel. The next morning the driver brings you back to Merzouga in time for your onward trip.

Want the classic arrival? Book the camel transfer to the desert camp instead, or combine both: camel on the way in at sunset, 4x4 on the way back.

Age, safety & accessibility

  • Suitable for all ages, including small children and older travellers.
  • The track across the sand can be bumpy for a few minutes. Hold on when the driver tells you.
  • Seatbelts are fitted. Tell us if you need a child seat.
  • Tell us if anyone in your group has reduced mobility, so we can help.
  • Not a dune bashing ride, the driver goes slowly and safely.

Booking conditions

  • You’re sending a request, not making an instant booking. We’ll confirm the pick-up time and place by WhatsApp or email.
  • Strong wind or a sandstorm can delay a transfer, but the driver will always get you to the camp safely.
  • Tell us your arrival time and how many people and bags you have.

How long does the 4x4 transfer to the camp take?
